This competition is for all students of faculties with technical or computer profiles in Iași. It is an individual competition consisting of two events, a theoretical trial for the selection of candidates and a final, practical trial, that consists of the development of a software project in one day. The competition is aimed at students with a passion for software programming.

Stage 1 - Registration period: 12th of March 2018 → 24th of April 2018

Registration for a competition is done by each participant opening an account on the www.electromobility.ace.tuiasi.ro Web portal, completing in full the available form and selecting the Electro-Mobility Software competition.

Students that are eligible for the competition include students from 1st year of studies (example: 1st, 2nd, 3rd year students) of technical or computer profile faculties, that are motivated and willing to put their theoretical knowledge in practice. Participants that as of the date of registration are employees of SC Continental Automotive România SRL are not eligible.

Stage 2 - Theoretical trial for the selection of candidates

The theoretical trial will take place at the Continental Automotive Iași office located at Bld. Poitiers, nr. 6. The entering of the location will be at 17:15 on the 25th of April 2018 with the requirement of an ID card and of a stamped student book.

The theoretical trial consists of a test regarding programming knowledge, calculation system theory and logic. The programming language is C. After this trial, the delimitation of participants for the practical trial will be performed.

After the theoretical trial participants will be assigned a score between 1 and 100 depending on the correctness of answers given within this trial. The theoretical trial will be carried out in writing, with multiple answer questions or open-ended questions.

Stage 3 - Annoncing the Participants for the Final Stage

After the analysis of the written work, the 10 contestants with the highest scores will qualify for the practical trial. The informing will be done via e-mail. Each participant will be informed regarding the score obtained at the theoretical trial.

Stage 4 - Conducting the practical trial, final assessment of projects and award ceremony

The "Electro-Mobility Software" competition will be conducted within the "Electro-Mobility" competition. Contestants will receive a workbench with the following equipment: laptop/desktop unit, display and peripherals, paper and pens. No other electronic equipment can be used, for example: personal laptops, mobile devices, USB sticks, etc.

The project for the final competition will be announced on the day of the competition and will have to be developed by all contestants individually. To take one of the top 3 spots, projects must be functional and run. A project that cannot be compiled is not eligible. The detailed delimitation method will be communicated on the day of the competition. The works will be assessed by a jury consisting of representatives of Continental Automotive Romania. The jury will witness in the practical work, and can ask questions and offer support for the work environment.
