2017 Edition



Iași, May 15 2017. The new trend of the automotive industry – autonomous electrical car – was the subject of the Electro-Mobility competition that took place this year. 25 teams (100 students) from Suceava, Iași, Cluj, București and Chișinău have competed in the grand finale that took place in May 13 2017. The students had the chance to work at a complex product that took them through all the development stages of a project and gave them the chance to team up with young enthusiasts of technology. Continental has settled a great part of costs required for participation for the finalist’s students.

„Electro-Mobility is constantly growing. This year we had the largest number of teams signed for the competition, 61, from which 25 qualified in the final. “Their scores were the highest in the 11-year history of the contest. Participants in Electro-Mobility are tomorrow’s specialists, people who set new trends, future colleagues who, through Continental, are developing new ideas in automotive and generate industry growth through their innovative ideas”, said Marian Petrescu, director of Continental Iasi location.

Winning Teams:

Ist place - was won by the „InelX“ team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of “Ștefan cel Mare” form Suceava with team members : Gherasim David, Maciuc Alexandru, Prodan Dragoș Mihai, Dumitru Chislii. Coordinating teacher: Remus Prodan .

IInd place – team „Electro Racers“ “ from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of “Ștefan cel Mare” form Suceava with team members: Mitricioaei Madalina Maria, Sandru Petru Ionut, Bilius Alexandru. Coordinating teacher: Adrian-Ioan Petrariu.

IIIrd place – team „HBFS Juniors“ from Bucharest, Faculty of Automation and Computers, Polytehnic University, with team members: Sirbu Octavian Tiberiu, Nicula Constantin, Menzopol Andrei. Coordinating teacher:Mihai Craciunescu.

Special prizes: Phase I was won by „ Robots Inside“ from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering and Applied Informatics, „Gheorghe Asachi“ Tehnical University of Iaşi: Balcan Sergiu, Grigorescu Daniel, Popa Ovidiu. Coordinating teacher: Damian Catalin. Phase II was won by „InelX“ team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of “Ștefan cel Mare” form Suceava consisting of: Gherasim David, Maciuc Alexandru, Prodan Dragoș Mihai, Dumitru Chislii. Coordinating teacher: Remus Prodan.

The Electro – Mobility competition also hosted Electromobility Hardware dedicated to the students in the first year of study, the winners being: IIIrd place: Toderita Andrei-Valentin IInd place: Perietanu Alexandru Ist place Dudun Anjelo and Electromobility Software with the winners IIIrd place Tudor Andrei Vrabie IInd place: George Iulian Uleru Ist place Cristian Rotaru.

The winning team received 1.100 euros, 800 euros received the students on the second place and 500 euros– the last ones on the podium. Special prizes were 300 euros.

In parallel, two special components of the competition were held: Electro-Mobility Hardware in which Iasi students were challenged to build an electrical circuit and Electro-Mobility Software, in which another group of students had the task of programming in less than 8 hours a 100% functional program.
