2015 Edition

Iași, 11th of May 2015. The passion of young men and women for the automotive field lead to one of the tightest electric car races in the 9 editions of the "Continental Electro – Mobility" Student Competition. The competition mobilized the almost 100 students from technical faculties in the East of the country. This year 51 teams , registered, but only the top 25 made it to the finals that took place on the 8th and 9th of May. Teams were formed from three or four students from renowned universities in Iași, Suceava, Galați and the Republic of Moldova. They built electric cars formed from a four part system:
- Control of two brushless electrical motors;
- Control of steering that was electrically assisted by a motor;
- Data transfer in the vehicle's control systems;
- Implementation of Client – Server communication.

Continental provided financial support to participating teams for the development of the vehicles: 110 euro each for the purchase of electric motors and 80 euro for costs necessary to accomplish the practical work (electronics, multisegment display, promotional materials, etc). 1.100 euro is the prize offered to the winning team, 800 euro for second place and 500 euro – third place. This edition had a number of new things. Three competitions were introduced into the contest: Hardware – 10 students that made it past the selection stages built on site an electric circuit; Software - five students developed, in a single each, one software project each, and 8 children raced remote controlled cars – Electromobility Kids. The event took place at the Continental office on Bd. Poitiers, Nr. 6.

„ We wanted to challenge the students to channel their talent and passion and create something innovative, to discover how important and charming the automotive industry is.
